For this e-commerce shop redesign, I focused on Pop Mart, a dynamic online retailer known for its variety of collectible toys and pop culture products. Given the wide array of items they offer, I wanted to create a simplified, focused experience for users without overwhelming them with too many options. I analyzed web traffic trends and found that Pop Mart experiences a significant spike in traffic—around 25% more—whenever a new product is released. To leverage this, I spotlighted these high-traffic items directly on the homepage, ensuring they would be front and center for customers. Additionally, I incorporated a "What People Are Saying" section, showcasing customer reviews on the homepage to build trust and highlight the reliability and quality of the products, further encouraging conversions and making it easier for potential buyers to make informed decisions.

Elevating the Digital Experience for a Growing Audience
I took on the task of reimagining Pop Mart’s digital experience. With search traffic reaching 2.3 million visits—an increase of 83,000 in a month—and a core audience of 25-34-year-olds, Pop Mart’s online presence is growing fast. This exercise wasn’t about transforming the platform but exploring ways to enhance its usability, navigation, and visual appeal while keeping the brand’s playful identity intact. The result? A fresh take on how Pop Mart could refine its online experience to better engage its expanding global audience.

Creating a Playful, Yet Functional Experience
To maintain Pop Mart’s dynamic and ever-evolving brand identity, a block-based design approach allows for flexibility while keeping the fun intact. This modular system ensures that each page can adapt seamlessly to different content needs without sacrificing visual consistency. By structuring elements into customizable blocks, the design empowers creators to build engaging pages effortlessly, reflecting the brand’s bold personality while maintaining a structured and user-friendly experience. Just like Pop Mart’s collectibles, the website should feel like an interactive playground—where every element fits together perfectly to form a cohesive, exciting whole.

A clear and intuitive user experience is as crucial as visual appeal in retaining and engaging visitors. To capitalize on the surge in traffic as of February 2025, I restructured Pop Mart’s homepage to highlight the main products driving the most visits. This streamlined approach ensures users can easily access popular items, enhancing their shopping experience and potentially boosting conversions. I also incorporated a "What People Are Saying" section on product pages showcases customer reviews, which are crucial for building trust and influencing purchasing decisions; products with reviews can see conversion rate increases of up to 270%. So far, the numbers say it all: the positive impact of these changes is reflected in a significant increase in customer engagement and purchase behavior.

Running a successful e-commerce platform involves more than just offering a compelling user experience and a visually appealing storefront. For Pop Mart, a fast-growing brand with increasing traffic and product lines, the team was facing significant operational challenges. Tasks like updating content, processing orders, and managing product listings required time-consuming manual intervention. To alleviate these burdens, we focused on optimizing Pop Mart’s internal processes to improve operational efficiency and give the team more autonomy in managing their site.
By incorporating a block-based design framework and integrating a flexible content management system (CMS), I streamlined Pop Mart’s website operations. This solution empowered the team to independently make changes without relying on developers for every update. With the ability to quickly adapt content, run A/B tests, and create new product pages or promotions, Pop Mart could now operate more efficiently and allocate resources toward strategic growth, enhancing both the customer experience and internal workflows.
